Who are the Massage Company?
The Massage Company is a specialist massage company with branches across the country. They offer a unique membership package that allows visitors to join by paying a monthly subscription (very much like a gym membership). Members can enjoy regular treatments aimed at improving mobility, helping physical recovery and reducing stress. They have a clear vision to bring high quality massage to the mainstream.
Where are they based?
The Massage Company currently have branches in Sutton Coldfield, Camberley, Putney, High Wycombe and Tunbridge Wells. They are usually located in town centres close to parking facilities to allow the easiest access for their members.
What’s special about them?
When I think about massage treatments I picture pamper days at luxury hotels. The Massage Company offers something completely different. They see massage as a regular, long term therapy to support improved health, mobility and stress levels.
What treatments do they offer?
They Massage Company offer four types of massage: Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Swedish Massage and Maternity Massage. They also offer upgrades in the form of hot stones, aromatherapy, scalp massage and foot massage for an additional charge.
How much do they charge?
These prices apply to the Tunbridge Wells branch – other branch prices may vary. Monthly membership costs £59.95 which includes one massage per month for 12 months. My Experience
I was invited to review a massage treatment at the Tunbridge Wells branch of The Massage Company. I’m not someone who indulges in massages or spa treatments very often so was excited to see what this different take on massage treatment would entail.
I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to park and access the Massage Centre. They are located almost directly opposite the exit to Crescent Road Car Park meaning I made good time for my appointment.
I was greeted warmly by staff who helpfully explained I needed to complete a form sharing any medical issues. The vibe was friendly, relaxed and welcoming, nothing like some of the more intimidating experiences I’ve had at high end spas – a huge relief! After a short wait I was greeted by my massage therapist, Rachel who guided me to my treatment room.
I’m pretty clueless about massage treatments but I shared a few niggling issues I’ve developed through running – Rachel was fantastic at guiding me in what might help. She also suggested I added an upgrade of a head massage to ease tension. She made me feel informed and aware without judgement.
The next 60 minutes were absolute bliss. The treatment beds even had heated sheets for extra comfort. After a relaxing head massage to start I was given a Swedish Massage with some Deep Tissue Massage in areas showing signs of tension. I could certainly make time to add this to my schedule once a month!
At the end of the treatment Rachel made sure I felt okay and offered me some water. She also provided me with a written summary of the treatments she provided with guidance for future visits which was really insightful.
