Review: Dolma – Vegan & Cruelty Free Perfumes

    January 27, 2023

I never really think too much about the ethics of my favourite perfumes, but having been recently introduced to a British fragrance brand with animal welfare at their core it’s certainly something I’ll be more aware of in the future. Dolma are a small, independent UK business built on a desire to create commercial scents…

Astley Clarke’s Gold Ring Collection: Classically Beautiful, Socially Conscious Jewellery

    August 29, 2022

As I’ve reached my mid-forties I’ve found that my love for jewellery has flourished. I’m pretty easy to please in terms of accessories – I like to keep things simple and classic. Nothing too awkward or fussy. When I was asked to work with Astley Clarke to showcase their collection of gold rings I jumped…

Stick in the Sand ~ Eco Windbreaks for the Brightest Beach Days

    June 22, 2022

Think of your typical British seaside scene and no doubt you’ll envisage colourful deckchairs, buckets and spades…and a host of retro windbreaks. Sustainable Gemstones & Gentle Diamonds from CARAT* London

    March 4, 2022

I’ve never been big on wearing jewellery, but since reaching my forties I’ve found the idea of adding a bit of sparkle to an outfit increasingly appealing. Being a clueless scruff bag I’ve always felt wary of buying the wrong type of jewellery, not knowing where to venture to make sure I’m not investing in…

Caithness 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 This time l Caithness 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 This time last week I was exploring the most northerly corner of our mainland. Caithness absolutely blew me away. The scenery is incredible. The people are friendly. It's quiet, wild and raw. 3 days wasn't nearly enough, but this is a taster of what I saw..

John O Groats & it's pretty harbour; Harrow Harbour (where I stumbled upon a family of huge seals); Dunnets Head (the actual most northerly point); Dunnets Beach (miles of white sand and hardly any people); The North Baths in Wick; Duncansby Stacks (my favourite!), the Whaligoe Steps and Lybster Harbour ⚓️ ⛰️ 🌊 🐚

I stayed at @ulbsterarmshotel in Halkirk. The perfect base for exploring Caithness and the NC500.
