Rustlers Burger Hacking Challenge
We live busy lives here at jugglingonrollerskates HQ. With both of us parents at work and four hungry children to feed….meals need to be quick and simple. I was asked to try Rustlers Southern Fried Chicken Burgers as one of our weekly evening meals so that my family and I could share our verdict of the burgers.
I decided to pair the burgers with sweet potato wedges, sliced avocado, beef tomato, mixed leaves and coleslaw. The veggie and salad side dishes seemed to compliment the burger well and made me feel like the meal was a healthier version of regular burger and chips.
Cooking the burgers really couldn’t be easier. They warm in the microwave for a minute and a half then need to stand for 30 seconds. They also come with a delicious burger dressing that you squeeze on top.
The burgers themselves received mixed reviews from the family. Morris thought the dressing was incredible but the chicken was ‘so-so’. Leon thought the chicken burger was delicious but the sweet potato was ‘wrong’! My husband gave the most positive feedback basically inhaling his burger but asking why he was only served one! Personally I liked the chicken and the dressing but thought the bun let the meal down. As it’s microwaved the bun was soggy underneath and ruined the experience for me.
Rustler Southern Fried Chicken Burgers are great for a quick kids tea…or perhaps for teenagers who are starting to have to prepare their own meals when their parents work late. I’d buy these burgers again but for the afore mentioned reasons: kids snacks. As a main dish in a family meal I thought they fell slightly short of the mark. Although…that burger relish is something quite special!
