Festivals are back! After a year of cancellations it feels incredible to have so many local festivals scheduled to take place across the region this summer. This year’s festival season will kick off with the Brighton Festival throughout the month of May followed by events featuring jazz, Americana, yoga and family adventure. We are incredibly lucky to have a number of world class musical artists performing right on our doorstep so get stuck in and support this industry who had it so tough last year. Its win-win all round!

1st – 31st May
Brighton Festival, the city’s annual celebration of music, theatre, visual arts, literature, comedy and family events returns this May. Events will take place online, outdoors and as guidance allows from 17 May, in socially distanced venues across the city and beyond. Family highlights will include Robot Selfie – a wall drawing robot that will create a giant mural based on photos sent in by the public and Up My Street – an augmented reality street art and performance trail for small, socially distanced groups. Bestselling authors Michael Rosen, Jacqueline Wilson and M. G. Leonard will also be giving talks and Rider Spoke will take cyclists on an interactive guided tour to search for secret hiding places. Turners Hill
Yoga-Camp is a gathering of people of all ages and abilities who love yoga, camping and good food. A wonderfully relaxing, educational and fun weekend in the heart stunning Sussex countryside. Join some of the best yoga teachers and massage therapists from Sussex and beyond for this nurturing weekend.

The award-winning Americana and country music festival is back for its third year promising to deliver one hell of a (safe!) summer party. With a fantastic line-up of music, food & drink, live fire cooking, Americana lifestyle and dedicated young folk area for families Black Deer 2021 boasts some of the biggest names in live music including the legendary Van Morrison, Irish song writer Imelda May and US songstress Jade Bird. With further additions yet to be announced to the line–up this is one festival not to be missed.

Pippingford Park, Nutley
We Are Not A Festival invites you to join them for a four day weekend of camping embracing a festival spirit minus the crowds. Co-Founder Shelley Styles explains ‘We’re celebrating the important things that impact our wellbeing – time with loved ones, nature and open spaces to play and wander – all in a calm and spacious environment.’ Taking place on the Ashdown Forest expect campfires, art, music, workshops and most importantly the freedom to have fun!

This friendly festival is all about young and old coming together to enjoy a weekend of great music and a warm friendly community having fun. This year’s line-up includes Aswad, Space, Dario G and the Noble Jacks as well as tributes to Blondie, Dolly Parton, Oasis and Take That. Something for everyone!
Dunorlan Park, Tunbridge Wells
9-11 July
Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park brings together brilliant food, live music and Michelin-starred chefs all served up in a beautiful park, making for the ultimate pub garden unlike any other. Music acts will rock the main stage throughout each session with Friday night kicking off with the Beautiful James Blunt followed a host of quality music acts across the weekend including Craig David, Judge Jules, The Lightening Seeds, Toploader and Beverley Knight.
