Birthdays, Bouquets and Beautiful Beverages at the #MoonpigVirtualEvent

August 1, 2020

As Zoom parties go this one was definitely up there! In late July I was invited by Moonpig to attend their #MoonpigVirtualEvent which involved an evening of treats, tips, flower arranging and a cocktail masterclass. The event was only a lot of fun but I actually learnt something too!

The Moonpig App

I’ve been aware of Moonpig for years but wasn’t really clued you to the full extent of their services. The first hour of the evening saw Moonpig App expert, Jasper talk us through a number of unique features for personalising birthday cards via their App including how to upload a hand drawn picture or written message. You can even see your card via AR before you send it. Genius! The Moonpig App really is a super simple way of keeping all your birthdays organised as well as solving those last minute birthday panics. Floral Delights

Next we were introduced to Roxanne who showed us how to look after our bouquet making sure the flowers look fantastic while ensuring they last as long as possible. We used the The Luxury Summer Garden which is their most luxurious bouquet. The flowers come in a large box which when opened reveals an absolutely huge bunch of gorgeous flowers including roses, scabiosa, gloriosa and viburnum. It was really good to have a professionals advice on how best to showcase this floral display – I’ll now always remember to start with a criss-cross arrangements building up from the outside and saving my show stopper pieces for the very end. Don’t they just look so damn pretty! You can see Moonpig’s full range of flowers here.

Cocktail Masterclass

Finally we were treated to a cocktail making masterclass thanks to James from Mix and Twist. James was a great host and a very patient teacher walking us through 3 deliciously refreshing summer cocktails. Here’s the recipes if yo fancy giving them a go for yourself. I’ve got to say the Summer Garden was my fave with it’s mix of cucumber, mint and elderflower fizz:

  • Summer Garden – 45ml Vodka, 25ml lime, 25ml sugar syrup, mint leaves, cucumber, 25ml elderflower soda
  • Strawberry Fizz – 45ml Vodka, 25ml lemon, 25ml sugar syrup, soda, strawberries, lemon
  • Passionfruit Martini – 45ml Vodka, 20ml lemon, 25ml passionfruit syrup, 60ml pineapple juice

The evening was a great blend of meeting new people, learning new skills and having fun. I’ve got to say Moonpig – you’ve set the bar pretty high with this one! It’s going to be hard to top. Thanks so much for a brilliant evening.
