5 Soft Plays for Rainy Days in East Sussex & Kent

It can be a bit of a challenge keeping the kids entertained in these wetter, colder Winter months. However it’s the perfect time of year to make the month of some of the local soft plays. We’re lucky to have several to choose from within a short distance of our home in Uckfield. I’ve put together my pick of 5 of our favourites to inspire you on those days when cabin fever starts setting in!

Barneys Play, Uckfield

Ideal for babies and toddlers to school age.

Barney’s has recently introduced the exciting role play area, Barnington where little ones can play at being a firefighter, hairdresser or running their own cafe. The main play area is suitable for able toddlers and older with a sensory play area and climbing blocks on the upper deck. Babies have their own enclosed space where they can explore soft blocks and interactive toys.

Non-walkers free, under 4’s £4.95, adults £1.20

Monkey Bizness, Lewes

Suitable for babies, toddlers and school age.

A huge, warehouse full of fun! Babies have a separate enclosed area to play. The main play area includes giant slides, tunnels, climbing apparatus, rope bridges and much more. There’s also a climbing wall and football area to keep older children happy.

Peak prices: Under 1’s free, age 1-3 £6.45, adults £1.25

Freedom Leisure, Hailsham

Suitable for babies, toddlers and school age.

A large play structures incorporating two play structures allowing older and younger children the space to play safely. The larger play frame has three different style slides, punch bags, obstacles to duck and weave through, spinners, rollers, a tunnel. The smaller play frame is designed for under 3’s and has two slides, animal shapes to rock in and building blocks to stack up or play a game with. Plus you can tie your visit in with a swim or bowling session at the Leslie’s centre!

Minor Mania, Frant

Suitable for babies, toddlers and school age.

Another big indoor space for little one’s to explore. Minor Manis has a separate area for children under 3 years old with a fish aquarium panel, plasma panels and a smaller frame with a slide. For the bigger children there’s a frame play area with air cannons, helter skelter slide, mouse holes and astra slide.

Urban Jump, Heathfield

Babies and toddlers

This might be one you’re not aware of..but in addition to their trampoline centre Urban Jump also have a really good soft play area for younger children. The play area in fenced in from the rest of the activities meaning children remain safe in the intended space. The play are features log bridges, ball pools, run mazes, boulder ball canyons, scramble nets and slides.

Under 5’s only £4 for 2 hours. No charge for adults or babies.
