A stay in Taormina can also offer day trips to several beaches with crystal clear waters…or if you prefer a bit more sophistication how about the vibrant cities rich in history and culture. Head to the centre of Taormina itself and you’ll discover a host of traditional boutiques and designer outlets blended with the towns unique historical buildings.

Places to visit and explore

Sicily has a great reputation for it’s shops. With a melting pot of cultures including Normans, Spaniards and Arabs mixed with a rich history, Mediterranean climate and the ever-present Etna a rich tapestry of influence and culture makes this an endlessly interesting place to explore. Make sure you do not miss the IX April Square with it’s beautiful views across the Ionian Sea. An absolute must see!

Some of the dreamiest villas can be found around the beaches of Isola Bella and on the peninsular of Giardini Naxos. These villas are saturated by sunlight, caressed by the sea breeze and offer complete and utter relaxation. Nearby you can visit Catania and Acireale, two cities both rich in Italian history with amazing restaurants and cafes.

Although Etna has been threatening to erupt over the centuries, it is now a respectable attraction in addition to its park Etna Land is a hugely popular attraction for families or travelers in search of a little adventure.

Sicily is also known for it’s unique selection of wines and opportunities for tasting particularly in the villages close to the hills rich in vineyards of Etna.  If you’re more of an adrenalin junkie why not hike the slopes of the volcano itself or try some of the extreme sports on offer in the Alcantara Gorges.

Hopefully this has given you a little taster of just what to expect from Taormina- Sicily’s lesser known luxury destination. Fancy giving it a go? Stop dreaming. Make it happen. there’s a luxury villa with it’s own private pool out there with your name on it…!
