Heading out to a local farm to hand pick your own pumpkins or gourds ready for carving ahead of Halloween has become an Autumnal ritual for many over recent years. Whether you’re looking for ingredients for a hearty soup, seasonal decorations or the perfect pumpkin to top off your Trick or Treating there’s plenty of places to explore this Autumn.
Please note picking sessions are very popular, often getting booked up very quickly. Please check opening times directly with venues and try to book in advance as much as possible. Happy picking!
Turner’s Hill
When? Open now (weekends only to start with) right through until the end of October.
How much? £3 – £6 per person depending on when you visit. Under 2’s go free.
Anything else? Tulleys really goes to town with their Pumpkin Picking. There’s always lots going on including great food, warm drinks, photo props, play areas for kids and Pumpkin Night events.
Fordcombe, Tunbridge Wells
When? 24th – 31st October
How much? £1 plus 75p booking fee per vehicle.
Anything else? Entry by ticket only so please make sure you book in advance.
Rodmell, Near Lewes
When? 16th – 31st October 10m – 4pm
How much? Free entry, just pay for your pumpkins.
Anything else? The farm can get very muddy so go prepared with welly boots.
Heaven Farm, Furners Green
When? 16th & 17th October and then 22nd – 30th October.
How much? Free entry – just pay for your pumpkins.
Anything else? There’s plenty to do here. Latchetts Farm sell the best ice cream around! There’s also a café, play area, nature trail and crazy golf.
Poynings, Near Brighton
When? Weekends through October then 23rd – 31stOctober
How much? Free entry. Just pay for what you pick.
Anything else? Burger van with refreshments on site. Be prepared to get muddy!
Stone Cross, Eastbourne
When? 23rd – 31st October
How much? £6.95 per child including 2 crafts, prize, activity sheet and entry. £2.50 per adult plus booking fee.
Anything else? Halloween trail and craft events are being held alongside pumpkin picking.
