Lambing Days across Sussex & Kent 2020

Last year I put together a round up of local farming venues hosting lambing days…believe it or not it was my most popular posts for 2019! There’s a lot of you out there wanting to know where you and your family can meet or even watch the arrival of these woolly cuties. It makes sense that I update the post for 2020. So here is the lowdown on where you can meet, feed, cuddle and fall in love with your local Sussex and Kent based lambs:

Sussex

Coombes Farm, Lancing

Coombes Farm will be welcoming visitors to the farm from Saturday March 14 – Sunday April 19 between 9:30am – 4pm. They have 800 ewes ready to deliver 1200 lambs so the farm is going to be incredibly busy during this period! Entry £4 for adults and £3 for children. Tractor rides will be available on dry days for £3 per person. They will also be serving hot drinks in the barn.

Gaston Farm , Slindon

Gaston Farm will be open from Saturday 28th March – Sunday 26 April between 10 am and 4 pm. Entry also includes a tractor ride costing £6 per person with under 2’s entering for free. Cash only!

Open Farm at Middle Farm

Open Farm at Middle Farm in Firle will once again be lambing from March through until April. Visitors will be able to see lambs being born as well as having the opportunity to bottle feed the lambs. Entry to Open Farm costs £5 with no charge for under 3’s.

Tablehurst Farm, Forest Row

Tablehurst is hosting two lambing days this year on Saturday 21st March and March 28th. Visitors can view the ewes and lambs in the barn, walk around the rest of the farm (which is always open to the public) and enjoy the organic cafe and barbecue. Entry is FREE!

Saddlescombe Farm, Brighton

Join Saddlescombe Farm near Brighton for their annual lambing open days on 28th & 29th of March and 4th & 5th of April. You’ll have the chance to meet the sheep flock and if you are lucky even see a lamb being born.  Adults £8, Children £4, Family (2 adults, 2 children under 16) £20. Tractor and trailer rides are included subject to weather conditions. Be prepared for mud!

Kent

Hadlow College, Tonbridge

Hadlow College will host it’s annual Lambing Weekend over the weekend of 14-15 March. They will have plenty of activities on offer to entertain the family including birds of prey, tractor rides, hot and cold food and local produce for sale. Tickets are available online for a discounted price or on the day at £20 for a family ticket, £8 for an adult and £4 for children.

Four Winds Farm, Bidborough

Four Winds Farm in Bidborough near Tunbridge Wells are welcoming visitors on Saturday April 4th between 11am and 4pm. They will offer fun activities including face painting and sheep sheering as well as cakes and hot drinks.

The High Weald Academy, Cranbrook

High Weald Academy are hosting their lambing weekend between March 23-24 from 10am – 4:30pm. Entry is just £2 with under 3’s being admitted for free.
