Edwardian Life Week at Hever Castle – May 25 – June 2

May 25, 2019

Edwardian Life Week takes place at Hever Castle for May Half Term 2019 running from May 25-June 2. Read on for more details of this event and other family activities to enjoy during your visit to Hever.

Where?

Hever Castle is found in the village of Hever or 3 miles outside of Edenbridge in Kent.

What?

Hever Castle was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII’s second wife. Guests can now enjoy the 13th Century Castle, landscaped grounds, maze, play areas and rowing lake.

How much?

A family ticket for the grounds and castle is £46.85 (2 adults & 2 children). This is reduced to £41.10 without Castle entry. Further reductions are available online in advance.

Edwardian Life Week

During May half term between May 25 – June 2 you can meet costumed characters from the Edwardian era whilst having a go at some traditional games.

You can enjoy a traditional Punch and Judy show or a range of games including hoopla, croquet and boules. We loved the opportunity to indulge in some simple fun as a family!

There’s also the opportunity to join Arthur Conan Doyle as he investigates reports of fairy sightings in the gardens.

Or perhaps you fancy brushing up on your butler skills at Hever’s very own Butler School. Find out why butlers ironed the newspaper (every page!) before delivering it to the head of the house…and why they were the most trusted member of the household.

Best of all activities are included in the general admission price! (Castle ticket is required to explore the Edwardian Inventions activity).

What else is good for kids?

Hever has some fantastic play areas. There’s a sandy area with play equipment for younger children. A brilliant castle play area with slides, tunnels, climbing ropes and endless hiding places for those looking for something a bit more adventurous. A super fun water maze with booby trapped stepping stones…not to mention the traditional maze!
