Getting ready for Summer with

May 30, 2023

If you’re anything like me you’ll get to this time of the year and realise you have absolutely no clothes that suit the warmer weather. After craving the sun for what seems like an eternity, the heat finally cranks up and I am never, ever prepared! This spring I’ve been exploring the summer ranges at to help me with my wardrobe refresh. I love that they offer such a huge choice of brands and designs at the same place. It means I can shop for the whole family in one big, online basket making life a whole lot easier.

I set out to buy a summer dress, a couple of tops and a few accessories to brighten up my wardrobe. I also wanted to find a couple of things for my hard-to-please 13 year old daughter. Here’s how I got on..

Wrap Dress

V-Neck Angel Sleeve Plisse Midi Dress – £28.50 (reduced from £38)

I chose this dress because V-neck’s tend to flatter my *ahem* ample cleavage and I love wearing red as it brings out my blonde side. This is a really easy to wear dress. It’s quite light weight so probably more suited to the beach than say a wedding. It’s very easy to wear and looks cool without even trying. Thrilled with this little number. Sunglasses are also from Very.

Ultimate Ruched Sleeve Blazer – £35

It might be summer, but we all know that in this country we need a few extra layers just in case. This mid sleeve blazer is perfect! I goes with everything whether you wear it casually with jeans or over a summer dress. It’s something I just know I’m going to wear to death. Love it.

Evening top

Long Tall Sally: Spot Mesh Sleeve Bodysuit – £25

This body suits fits like a dream. I’ll be wearing this with denim shorts when it’s warm enough or jeans when it’s not. Again I’ve gone for a v-neck which I find suits my shape. These low cut v’s can often gape and awkwardly reveal your bra but I found this fits closely to my shape and keeps me covered. The mesh sleeve detail gives it an original look, and also works perfectly for covering any dodgy sunburn patches acquired earlier in the day!

Sweetheart Puff Sleeve Top – £9.50 (reduced from £18)

Such a cute top for such a good price. I really like to puff ball sleeves, the bright red colour and the sweetheart neckline. The cut is quite short in the body which means I need to wear it with a high cute trouser. Try sizing up if you’re wanting a looser fit.

Teen Outfit

My camera shy 13 year old chose a sporty ensemble perfect for beach days and camping. She wears a pair of Atleisure Shorter Length Cycling Shorts and a Superdry Vintage Logo Embroidered Zip Hoodie finished off with a classic pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Tops. Her verbal feedback has been minimal but she’s wearing them all the time so I’ll take that as a win! – and it’s not a tattoo, it’s biro!
