Les Arcs in summer 🌸 What a blast! We caught the free funicular from Bourg Saint Maurice up to resort where you can take your pick of activities from mountain biking, hiking, paragliding or, like us zip wire! We caught the gondola right up to Aiguille Rouge where at 3226m we got to experience summer snow and watch eagles soaring over head 🦅 followed by a quick pit stop for lunch with killer views at @maisonfalcoz (B. O. B.) 🥖 🥗 🍺

The experience that really made the day special was the awesome Aiguille Rouge zip wire. This zip wire is extreme reaching speeds of over 100km/hr and taking you down 1.8km of mountain terrain. It makes your cheeks wobble, your tummy flip and your mouth grin from ear to ear! Check out @lesarcs for more details ⛰️

When we drive to the Alps we try to make the journey part of the holiday. We book 2 pit stops each way. This time I used @bookingcom as I find their fees more transparent than other (ahem) similar online BnB options.
It's always a bit of a gamble - this trip each stop I booked was around £100 or under for the family. We ended up staying in an old people's home and someone's garage on the journey out! This was my favourite stop though 👆🏻 A cattle farm in Bourgogne in the middle of nowhere. The farm is owned by a Swiss guy who wanted to escape the rat race so moved here a 3 years ago. We stayed in the traditional farm house which was huge and only cost £80 for all of us! The sunset was incredible which we enjoyed listening to the dulcet tones of two territorial bulls (scroll to second image)🐂 It's surprises like this on an adventure you remember the most - don't ya think?

Aérolive is a new experience at @la_plagne where you can ride in an open sided gondola up to 3080m! 🚠 Strap into the cabin and lean out into the wind immersing yourself in the mountains. The ride takes 17 minutes taking you from Roche de Mio at 2739m up to the 3080m summit where the scenery looks more like Mordor than mountain ⛰️ Totally unique and utterly breathtaking from start to finish ✨

Have you ever been to a ski resort in summer time? 🌼 Yesterday we caught the free funicular train from Bourg St Maurice up to Les Arcs. There is so much to do! We caught the gondola right up to Aiguille Rouge where at 3226m we got to experience summer snow and watch eagles soaring over head 🦅 We enjoyed watching the Illuminated Murals of the Aiguille Rouge through an awesome, free cinematic experience tucked behind the Varet cable car. There are loads of kids activities dotted about resort like trampolines, bouncy slides & mini golf. Miles and miles of bike trails. Views beyond belief.
