A Family Stay with Brighton Getaways

Brighton Getaways provide a wide variety of holiday homes and apartments throughout the city of Brighton. They pride themselves in ensuring their properties are safe and secure with up to date facilities and interior decor. We visited their Grafton Street property in Kemp Town earlier this week and thoroughly enjoyed the ease of a brilliantly located property which offered a practical and comfortable family bolthole.

The Seaside Patio Apartment on Grafton Street is a two bedroom apartment which can sleep up to 8. Grafton Street is in the heart of Kemp Town and a two minute walk from the beach. Everything is easily accessible from this location be it restaurants, bars, the beach or the pier…it can all be reached within a five minute walk from the front door.

The downside of the property’s great location is that parking isn’t permitted outside the apartment. This wasn’t great news for me as on this occasion I was on my own with two children and was concerned about not only being able find somewhere to park…but also how I would transport all our bags on my own with a seven year old and a toddler! But..Brighton Getaways came to the rescue! Unlike a lot of holiday apartments Brighton Getaways conduct their check-ins face to face to make sure guests are settled and and concerns are dealt with promptly. I can’t tell you how helpful this was as panic started to set in as I drive aimlessly around the block for the third time with a screaming toddler in the back…my Brighton Getaways rep was not only able to guide me to a nearby parking facility…but also unloaded all my bags and delivered them to the apartment! This made a real difference to my experience…I would really have struggled without this help and I think this policy of being on hand to nip any difficulties in the bud is quite an exceptional service. 24 hour parking cost me just over £18 so please take parking into consideration…it may be that if you are visiting with older children the train may be more practical.

The Seaside Patio Apartment is located in the property’s basement. This wasn’t ideal with a pushchair as the steps were quite steep and narrow. However, once in the property there was plenty of hall space to store the buggy and there are no internal stairs to worry about.

The entire apartment is bright, clean and smart. There are colourful cushions, throws and accessories throughout and light pours in through the patio doors which lead to the small courtyard.

The main bedroom is able to sleep up to six. The room is a generous space with two single beds and a double bunk with a single on top. There is also a fold out bed available. Six might be a squeeze in here but five would be quite comfortable. Fairy lights, cute cushions, monochrome rug and bright canvases really make this room feel a home away from home.

The kitchen is well equipped with all the utensils and cooking tools you might need including coffee and tea. Other essentials such as washing up liquid, scrubbers, bin bags and are also provided meaning there’s less for guests to have to remember to pack for a short stay.

For dining there is a breakfast bar area with four high stools. The stools were a bit high for my two year old but the lounge area has small tables where he could happily eat his breakfast whilst watching morning cartoons.

The bathroom is compact but fittings are all smart and clean. Again all the essentials were provided including fresh towels, toilet roll and shampoo and shower gel.

The second bedroom at the back is a small twin. Beautiful decorated and delightfully cosy another really appealing place to lay our heads.

The courtyard offers a small space to sit and have a coffee or read. The light from the outside area has an impact on the whole apartment…sunlight pours into the lounge and back bedroom making the whole property feel light and airy.

The Seaside Patio Apartment is perfectly located for making the most of the beach and restaurants in Brighton. The proximity of the apartment to the beach meant that we were able to enjoy sunsets and early morning paddles with ease. Even on my own with two children I found the apartment allowed us to make the most of goings on with minimal hassle or having to walk too far. Brighton Getaways have made real efforts to pay attention to detail and it really helps make a more enjoyable and stress free stay…the face to face contact, the cleaning supplies and the coffee and tea supplies all made an impact on the ease of our stay. Ideally I think this property is better suited to children over the age that might require a pushchair…and larger families may find sharing a bathroom this size a bit of a challenge..but those are two very good reasons to take a look at the whole range of gorgeous properties that Brighton Getaways have to offer! The perfect compromise for families who want to enjoy exploring in the heart of the city without the constraints of a hotel.

We received a night’s complimentary stay with Brighton Getaways in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own. I’d like to thank Damian for organising our trip and Josh for being our parking saviour!
