Theatre on Kew at Wakehurst Place: The Dream Fairies

My 2 year old son and I enjoyed a truly magical experience at Wakehurst Place today. We saw the opening performance of The Dream Fairies: An Adventure through Bubble Wood which runs until this Sunday September 3rd. The show takes place in the enchanting Tree Trunk Trek allowing the young audience and their imaginations to be captivated from start to finish.

The story follows a group of friendly fairies who engage with the audience as they sing, dance, swirl and cartwheel across the stage. The audience are encouraged to embrace the laid back theatre style by bringing blankets, picnics and dressing up as fairies and elves themselves. The cast are particularly good at interacting with the younger members of the audience throughout the show whilst pulling out some really catchy songs that will have you wiggling about on your tree stump!

I can’t recommend this show enough. It is professional, yet charming and will have you grinning from ear to ear as you watch. It’s ideal for toddlers as it’s only a 60 minute performance with plenty of opportunity for joining in….plus they can stretch their legs for a dance in bubble land towards the show finale. There’s a pop up coffee shop on site which takes cash and cards and parking for Wakehurst Place is included in the price of the ticket for the show. The perfect day out for the last weekend of the holidays!

Ticket prices: Adult £16.00, Child £12.90, Under 2’s FREE. Ticket prices include entry to Wakehurst Place and Parking.  Please click here to book tickets.

If fairies aren’t your thing….then there’s also Wind in the Willows being performed at the main house! Please check the website here for further details on this performance.
