February 11, 2018

You can find Bedgebury Pinetum tucked away between Tunbridge Wells and Goudhurst. It’s a stunning location which offers a wide range of activities for families and outdoor enthusiasts. Here are just a few reasons why a day a Bedgebury is the perfect place to take the family this Spring:

1) The Gruffalo Trail

The Gruffalo Trail allows you to explore 350 acres of woodland whilst keeping the kids engaged and excited. Bring every child’s favourite story alive by exploring the deep dark woods and meeting the Gruffalo himself!

2) The Highway Rat Trail

The recently added Highway Rat Trail takes you to tucked away play areas and picnic spots. As you go, look out for characters from the story, complete four rubbings and take your picture with the life-sized Highway Rat Wanted poster.

3) Family Cycle Trails

Bedgebury offers a range of cycle trails with something for everyone, from beginners and families looking for a fun day out, to adrenalin junkies looking for a challenge. The family cycle trail covers 10km of of track round the 2000 acre forest.

4) Go Ape

Bedgebury is also home to one of the many brilliant GoApe courses. As well as the adult course GoApe Bedgebury also offers Tree Top Junior where kids can enjoy a fun filled hour of canopy exploring, awesome zip wires and jungle obstacles. The course costs £18 and you need to be a metre high to climb.

5) Budget Family Day Out

Entry to Bedgebury is charged per car. Off peak the car park costs £10 rising to £12 during peak times. This is your only entry fee and allows you access to the Pinetum, Gruffalo and Highway Rat trails, Cycle tracks and numerous play areas!

What a coincidence, I was reading about this only this morning as we’re going to Kent for a few days over half term. We might check it out if the weather isn’t too grim! #ExplorerKids
